Sanctuary Cottage, Anelog
SANCTUARY COTTAGE, BRYN DDU FARM, ANELOG, ABERDARON LL53 8DD.
Approached by narrow country lanes and set at the end of a long tar macadam drive at the foot of Anelog mountain, this 16th century semi-detached farmhouse is extremely popular with returning guests for the past 35 yrs. It retains its “olde worlde” charm and atmosphere with 20th century mod cons and low-beamed ceilings.
A garden gate leads directly onto the National Trust headland and the
coastal path with the sea lapping at the rocks. Superb walks along the
coastal path to Whistling Sands and beyond or Bardsey Island lookout the
other way, discovering rocky inlets, sandy coves and little islands en
route. Even views of Wicklow mountains and the Irish coast on a clear
day! This is a sea fishing and nature-lovers paradise with seals,
dolphins, and various uncommon birds to spot!
The beautiful sandy beaches of Whistling Sands, Porth lago, and
Aberdaron are no more than 10 minutes drive. The village of Aberdaron
has a general store, post office, off license, newspapers, bakers, along
with two hotels with welcoming bars and snacks, and a famous old
teashop. The historic church virtually on the beach is well worth a
visit. A new National Trust Visitors Centre is on hand too!
